Dr. Rhian Young, ND
Dr. Rhian Young, ND has over 10 years’ experience with a focus in BioIdentical Hormones, Cardiovascular disease treatment & prevention, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Weight Loss, Digestive Disorders, Menopause and assisting cancer patients optimize treatments by integrating natural foods and supplements to reduce side effects of treatment and help with the healing process. Dr. Young received her Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University in Biology with a minor in Neuroscience and Anatomy. Dr. Rhian attended Bastyr University during which she focused her clinical experiences on HIV/AIDS, Women’s Health and Gynecology and general medicine. Following graduation, she participated in a Residency at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This amazing experience allowed her to see first-hand how integrative medicine works so well to bring optimum health and healing to the patient. Following her residency, she moved back to the Seattle area and began working in an integrative setting treating patients from all over the world with issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, chemical dependency and other addictions.
Beginning in 2008, Dr. Young started Purity Integrative Health & Wellness Center with a hope of using her experiences to treat a wide variety of issues and facilitate trust and confidence to people who need help and are eager to change to make improvements to their life.
In her free time, Dr. Young loves to spend time with her husband, her children and her three dogs while enjoying the beauty of the Northwest through running, biking, hiking, and camping.
Dr. Young and her family attend Gold Creek Community Church in Mill Creek or Overlake Community Church in Redmond. They consider God and integral part of their life both personally & professionally.
Dr. Sue Yang-Eng, DAOM, LAc
Dr. Yang-Eng has over twelve years of professional experience in the field of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Her post graduate training includes three months of Chinese herb externship in Chengdu and Shanghai, China; six months of acupuncture practice at three hospitals in Shanghai; and two years of residency at Bastyr University. Dr. Yang-Eng received her degrees in Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2000 and Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University in 2009. She is licensed in Washington State and is nationally board certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Prior to being a full-time practitioner, Dr. Yang-Eng was an academic professor and a clinical supervisor atBastyrUniversityfor seven years. During this time, she also earned a book publishing credit as a co-author of Chinese Herbal Medicine: Modern Applications of Traditional Formulas and held position as an Adjunct Medical Staff at Madison Clinic atHarborviewMedicalCenter. In late 2011, Dr. Yang-Eng redirected her focus to pursue her dream of influencing the lives of patients by directly helping those in need. She joined Purity Integrative Health because she believes her skills and knowledge will add to the collaborative approach the clinic envisions for those seeking complementary healthcare.
Just as important as treating individuals of their ailments, Dr. Yang-Eng understands the responsibility placed on healthcare practitioners and recognizes that everyone has their own, unique background to tell. Her treatment philosophy involves listening with compassion, educating patients to better understand what factors led to their condition(s) and providing helpful suggestions for lifestyle modification.
In her free time, Dr. Yang-Eng enjoys tea parties with her two young daughters, teaching them Mandarin, and watching The Food Network.
Dr. Chelsea Gordon, ND
Dr. Chelsea Gordon received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University. During her studies at Bastyr, Dr. Gordon focused her clinical experience in women’s health and pediatrics. She furthered her education by completing additional coursework in advanced pediatrics, childbirth education, infant and maternal nutrition, botanical medicine and neonatology. After graduation, Dr. Gordon continued her training with a pediatric focused residency in Carnation, WA. Prior to medical school, she received her Bachelor of Science in Health Psychology and Human Biology with an emphasis in nutrition.
As a primary care provider, she combines her knowledge and experience with both conventional and naturopathic medicine to offer an integrative approach to treatment. It is her belief that if the foundations of health are established in infancy and childhood, children can be set up for lifelong wellness.
Dr. Gordon is a preferred provider with most major insurance companies and is accepting new patients. Services include primary care, acute illness visit, well child exams, vaccine counseling, natural family planning, lactation counseling and well woman annual exams.
Dr. Gordon is a professional member of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians and The Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, reading, gardening and cooking.
Heather Kettner, LAc
Heather is a Washington state licensed acupuncturist and herbologist and is a nationally recognized Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by (NCCAOM). She earned a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University and a Bachelors of Sciences in Business Administration from Colorado State University. Heather has completed two internships, one with an acupuncturist that specializes in treating pain using the Dr. Tan method, and one working with Women’s health and fertility issues. She is also certified in Acutonics sound therapy and in Access Consciousness BARS treatments.
Heather is excited to be joining the team at Purity and to share with her patients the amazing healing modality of acupuncture.
In her free time Heather enjoys being in the out-of-doors hiking, biking and skiing with her husband and new baby.
